The Countdown Continues!
Just a reminder that I've got a contest running all week in anticipation of Homicide in Hardcover arriving on bookshelves February 3. That's barely a week away! Leave me a comment and you'll be eligible to win a Launch Party Package of books, $25 Barnes & Noble gift certificate, chocolates, and more!
Okay, today I'm wondering if anyone remembers those questions James Lipton always asks at the end of The Actors' Studio. I really like those questions and always wanted to answer them for myself. Let's try one here today.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I'd like to be a spy. I think I'd make a really good spy. And nobody would ever know I was spying on them -- because I'm invisible.
How about you? What would you like to be?
Cheers!

Great question and this might sound silly to some people but I would like to try retirement so as I can read as much as I want to and spend even more time on the internet LOL. Other than that I think I would like to be an author if only I could do that
Have Fun
Helen
Yes that is me I forgot to log in first I am having a bad day today even though it is Australia Day
Have Fun
Helen
Fighter pilot--cuz today I just feel like dive bombing someone :-)
Or--how about the assistant that rubs oil on the hot guys before the shirtless photo shoot? I'd be good at that, I wouldn't miss a spot! I'd do it twice just to make sure the job's done right!
Or a coffee taster. I would travel the world going to coffee shops and tasting their coffee and deciding if they are the "in" spot or not. Every owner would want my approval. I do like coffee...
Okay, I'll stop now!
Hi Helen! I'm so sorry you're having a bad day. But I wish you a Happy Australia Day!! Hope it gets better soon.
Retirement sounds like the ideal occupation to me. :-) All the time in the world to do whatever you want. *happy sigh*
LOL Jen! I love your ideas. Jet fighter pilot would be very exciting, and yeah, you could scare the pants off anyone you wanted. :-)
But I think I'd prefer to be that oil rubber person. Wonder what their real job title is? I want it, whatever it is! I think I could do a good job, too. Heh heh.
Two of my favorite things to do are read and watch movies, so I'd have to say a book or movie reviewer.
I always thought it would be interesting to be a professional implosionist. I saw a special about a family business that does that and it's really interesting.
I also think it'd be interesting to be a weather forcaster.
I would be a photographer or famous actress.
I would like to be a millionare! I would never have to worry about money and I could buy all the books I wanted and could read all the time. Sounds good to me!!!
I always wanted to be a photographer for National Geographic....all that travel. Then I realized I probably wouldn't get sent to the great places..I'd be in deserts or jungles and it's hot and there are BUGS. so um, no.
Guess I'll stick with being a writer!
Chocolate taster!
What I would love as a career is a travel writer. Amazing and fascinating experiences.
tetawa, I would love to review movies and books--or food! Yum! But I've tried writing book reviews and I'm just no good at it. It's really hard! I admire anyone who can write short stories or articles or reviews, it really takes talent!
Elaine, hi! Implosionist, is that where a building is blown up but it doesn't explode, it ... hmm, implodes. Okay, duh, implodes! LOL. Answered my own question! Wow, that must take a lot of precision placement of all that dynamite. Very cool job choice!
Weather forecaster seems really interesting, too.
Hi Marie! I tried photography years ago but didn't stick with it. I really admire someone with that kind of artistic ability.
LOL Virginia!! I'm right there with you! Gimme the money and I'll be perfectly happy. :-)
Oh Maureen, the bugs would totally turn me off! I guess I couldn't be a tour guide, either. Or a forest ranger, or anything else that required me to come into contact with bugs. I'm getting chills just thinking about it! LOL
Minna, I think you've settled on the perfect occupation. I'm signing up for that one, too. Mmm, chocolate taster for See's Candy. Yeah!
traveler, what a great choice! You could travel anywhere you wanted and write it off by writing about your adventures and the places you visited. Of course, there might be bugs ... *g*
Hi Kate. I would love to a professional pastry chef and make all of those beautiful and yummy creations.
Ooh sarabelle, another brilliant choice! Right up there with chocolate taster. :-)
I mean, you would have to taste your products, right? Sample them to make sure they were perfect? Yeah, that's the part I like!
Right now I have my dream job. I am a retired school teacher! If I could choose another fun job, it would be a book reviewer or a travel photographer.
I would love to be an archaeologist and go to some exotic locale and uncover some beautiful artifacts.
I would like to have a humor column in a newspaper. I have been saving jokes and putting them in scrapbooks for years. Laugher is the best medicine they say and I agree.
I seem to have left the "t" out of "laughter," but I think it would be understandable.
