Author of the Month!

I'm thrilled to announce that I am one of the featured authors at the Mystery Club at Barnes&Noble.com this month! The Mystery Club moderator is the fabulous Becke Martin, so please come by and visit, leave a comment, ask questions about Homicide in Hardcover, tell me a joke, anything you want! Let's talk. I'll be there all through March!

I'm doubly excited because also featured this month is the marvelous New York Times bestselling author Karen Rose (fangirl moment--wheeee!!), so please stop by and say hi to Karen, as well!

Cheers!

I just finished "Homicide in Hardcover" last night and had to tell you how much I loved it! Can't wait until the next one is out....WHEN, oh when, will that be?
Brooklyn is quirky and fun, gutsy, and she talks to herself (and sometimes gets caught!). Derek is hawt and I look forward to seeing more of him. And Gabriel? WOW.
Keep up the great writing!

I just finished Homicide in Hardcover and I loved it. It was fast-paced, filled with action, filled with rare books information and most of all, it was fun. I can’t wait to read the next book in this new series.

Kate,

I just wanted to drop by and tell you that my wife was just complaining that she lost some sleep. She had planned to read for about twenty minutes and then catch up on sleep, but instead wound up completely absorbed in Homicide in Hardcover, and was unable to put it down. I think she devoured 3/4 of the book in a few hours. She really enjoyed the book, and will be looking for your future releases.

Not sure if you remember me, we’ve met a couple of times (I use to work with your adorable husband back in his Verizon days). I just finished "Homicide in Hardcover" last night and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it and that I can’t wait for the next one. I’m a big fan of this genre and thought your book binding back drop was original and your characters were fun and entertaining. Your writing is witty, vivid and expressive, I felt like I was right there in Wine Country. I know this has been a dream of yours and wanted to congratulate you on your success!

I am thrilled for you but not surprised because I enjoyed HinH so much. Brooklyn is endearing, you're witty (I love when she's worried about smelling like Chinese food), and I'm intrigued by this generation of San Franciscans, having belonged to an earlier one myself. Dueling bookbinders--that really couldn't happen just anywhere, could it? How I found HinH: your mom loaned it to her nextdoor neighbor, who loaned it to me. We all had Easter brunch together and sang your praises in champagne toasts. Congratulations!

Just finished HOMICIDE IN HARDCOVER while visiting Seattle. It was hard for me to wait but I bought four copies to share with friends I was traveling with and wanted us to read them at the same time. Loved the book - love Brooklyn!!! Can't wait for the next in the series.

While visiting The University of Washington's bookstore to participate in another friend's book talk/signing, I looked for your book on the shelves. I found it - they were nearly sold out. The book talk organizer told me that another copy had sold just that afternoon.

If you're interested, the author I went to see is Cristina Henriquez. Cristina is a former classmate of my oldest son and is the daughter of a friend of mine. Her new book is THE WORLD IN HALF and she's also written a book of short stories, COME TOGETHER, FALL APART.

Your styles are both different, but you're both AWESOME.
