Crawling from the Cave

Wow, has it really been almost two months since I last blogged? Hmm. Well, I have lots of good excuses. Really. A deadline. Then another deadline. A proposal due. Revisions to do. And more revisions. Then I traveled to San Francisco for a long weekend to attend several cool book signings and a very fun book launch party.

I even blogged! At Romance Bandits, and Orange County's RWA Chapter blog, and at the new Silhouette Desire authors' blog. But not here at Kate's Chronicles. Ah, well ...

I'm here now! And I want to say THANKS to everyone who stopped by the Sisters in Crime booth at the LA Times UCLA Book Fair on Saturday to say hello!

I’m still working on revisions to Bibliophile book two and feeling frenetic as I prepare to leave for Malice Domestic tomorrow. If you’re attending Malice, please say hello to the wide-eyed newbie who doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing or where she’s going. That’ll be me! I’m really looking forward to attending Malice for the first time and meeting readers and seeing lots of my favorite mystery authors. I’ll be on a panel Sunday called “I Hear Voices.” It promises to be a hoot!

I’ll also be signing Homicide in Hardcover at the Borders Book Store at Reagan Airport in Washington D.C. on Friday at 1:00 p.m. So if you happen to be cruising the airport—because who doesn’t love to do that?—or you’re between flights, come say hello!!

If you can't make it by the airport, you should still be able to find signed copies of Homicide at these absolutely fabulous independent bookstores:

The Mystery Bookstore, Westwood Village, California

Mysterious Galaxy, San Diego, California

"M" is for Mystery, San Mateo, California

Cheers!

Hey, stranger! Glad to see you around. It's good to crawl out into the sun sometimes. LOL. Wish I was going to be anywhere close to one of those places. I'm not due any more travel until July for RWA. I can't wait to read the upcoming books! Get busy! *cracks whip*

I just happened to come upon Homicide in Harcover while at a conference in Seattle (needed a diversion and was looking for a new mystery author to try). 48 hours later and I'm finished--so glad to see you are working on the next book (I figured, since the book cover proudly announced, "First in a New Series!"). Best of luck...your sleuthing fans anxiously await its arrival!

I also found your book in Seattle while on my annual Chick Trip. We were visiting the university bookstore (getting ready for a booksigning by another friend - her novel, THE WORLD IN HALF, just came out)and I searched the shelves for your book. There it was! The booksigning organizer said that a copy was sold that day and that only one copy was left! She also said they had your book face-front on the shelves b/c it was generating interest.

I called Mary Lou asap to tell her the story!

Once again, I'm late to my own blog!!

Hi, Silver, it's great to see you! I went off to Malice Domestic, got back and promptly came down with the worst cold and sinus infection I've had in years! I was down for the count for almost three weeks.

Anyway...it's now June, which means RWA conference is right around the corner. I hope to see you there!

Hi Helen! I'm so glad you loved HIH! I'm just about to turn in my revisions for book two, so it'll won't be out until February. It sounds like forever but it'll be here before I know it!

Andrea, hi! Wow, I'm amazed to hear that you found the book at the University book store. And I'm very excited that they were shelving it with the cover out. I do love my cover. :-)

Thanks for coming by the blog, and I'll be sure to look for your friend's book!
